Tesco listing questions

Is this tool made by Tesco?

No. Amazon SEO Ranking is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Tesco PLC. Tesco is a trademark of Tesco PLC; we use the name only to say which retailer's rules the tool checks.

What's the difference between Tesco Marketplace and Tesco.com groceries?

Tesco Marketplace is where third-party sellers list their own products (mostly home, garden, toys, pets and similar), through the Mirakl seller portal. Tesco.com groceries is Tesco's own range: brands supply the content through a product data service and Tesco publishes it. The two have different rules, so the checker scores each one separately.

What are Tesco Marketplace's title and bullet rules?

Titles should be 60–70 characters, in title case, in the order brand, model or name, variant, product type, size, with no price, offer, delivery or company information. Up to 3 bullet points of 50 characters or fewer, in sentence case without a full stop. The description is plain text (no HTML) with no subjective claims such as "the best" and no links.

What does a Tesco.com grocery product page need?

A product name with the brand and pack size, a description without unauthorised health claims, an ingredients list with allergens emphasised, the food information UK law requires before purchase (such as nutrition, net quantity, storage and the business address), and a primary image that is a pack shot or Mobile Ready Hero on white, matching the pack in store.

Where do the rules come from?

Tesco Marketplace rules come from seller-tool documentation of Tesco's requirements (updated September 2026). Grocery rules come from Tesco's published product data guidelines and UK food information law. They are summaries, not legal advice: check the latest requirements with Tesco before you publish.

Is there Tesco search volume?

Tesco doesn't publish search volumes, and no data provider sells them. Keyword Demand ranks keywords with a UK demand index: each keyword's monthly UK searches on Google and Amazon, scaled so the strongest keyword in your list is 100. It's an estimate of UK shopper demand, not a count of Tesco searches.

Do you read data from tesco.com?

No. Tesco's website terms don't allow automated collection from its site, so our tools never visit it. The Listing Checker and Product Audit check only what you paste into them, in your browser, Keyword Demand uses Google and Amazon UK search data, and the Rank Tracker reads only Tesco search pages you open yourself, pasted in or sent by our extension for keywords you track.
